Contributing to Construction Site Telework: Excavators Operated via Internet from 1,000km Away
ARAV Co., Ltd., a UTokyo-based startup, successfully demonstrated real-time excavator teleoperation via the internet in collaboration with Fujiken Co., Ltd. (Saga) and Visper LLC (Fuji), and has begun commercialization. This retrofit device works with any make or model, enabling remote control from any internet-connected laptop or smartphone.
This technology can be used to implement telework at construction sites, helping prevent the spread of COVID-19.
