Successful Teleoperation of a Carrier Dump via Smartphone
ARAV Co., Ltd. (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) and Morooka Co., Ltd. (Ryugasaki, Ibaraki) successfully demonstrated operating a Morooka carrier dump from 12km away using a smartphone connected to the internet.
The system can be retrofitted to construction machinery with CAN communication support, allowing teleoperation from any laptop or smartphone with internet access. With a built-in SIM, it works anywhere with cellular coverage.
Enabling telework for construction tasks contributes to COVID-19 prevention, safer operations, and solving operator shortages.
